SEO, Google Analytics, Pixel Tracking and Tag Manager Policy

SEO, Google Analytics, Pixel Tracking and Tag Manager Policy

We have had an increased request for pixels and tracking codes to be added to client websites to track both Google, Facebook and the like.

As we continue to improve our website development operations and implement further controls to ensure site stabilities and performance, the following provides information on how we are setting up SEO and tracking on our websites.

As part of the new plans and pricing, ALL CRU plans will include Rank Math SEO and Google Tag Manager options

Rank Math SEO
This is a move away from the All In One SEO plugin that we have been using for some years now. We have found that AIOSEO is lacking in performance and with their recent changes, this has affected clients Google Analytics. We have found that Rank Math is far superior and we believe our clients are going to get more out of this new SEO tool. We have also found with our recent testing that Rank Math excels in delivering all the features needed for you to manage your SEO. Once clients have confirmed their new plans, a CRU developer will make the necessary changes - don't worry all of your descriptions and keywords are all going to be automatically transferred to RankMath so you won't lose anything.

Google Tag Manager (GTM)
We have had a lot of requests to add pixel tracking codes as well as raised tickets with issues for existing pixel code set-up. We have completed our review of this part of the website and our position moving forward is that all tracking will be set up through GTM. This decision is so we limit the number of plugins that aids in performance as well as allowing yourself or external marketing agencies to add and manage tracking codes directly on GTM without relying on CRU. CRU is launching this service, so if you do not know how to set up or manage GTM, we can do it for you by setting up all of the above in the Google Marketing Platform.

As marketers, you should have an understanding of GTM as well as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEO and managing all of these (and Social Media platform Pixels) through the Google Marketing Platform. (https://marketingplatform.google.com/about/). If you or your team have a gap in this knowledge, CRU will be offering services in these areas. We will be launching with a Tagging & Tracking service to implement Google Tag Manager and set up your  Analytics and Pixel Tracking.

We will be implementing this new policy as soon as clients sign over to their new plans. All tracking and pixel codes will be removed so please have all of your tracking set up in GTM so the transition is smooth. If you have any issues or will be delayed, please submit a support ticket.

FAQ’s
Q. Why are you removing other ways of tracking?
A. By removing extra plugins that manage tracking and pixels we speed up the website performance and there will be less plugin conflict opportunities. It also means if you have everything set up through Google Marketing Platform, you can easily manage these pixel codes and tracking yourself, by your preferred digital agency or by CRU and not have to worry about user access or permissions.

Q. Will Facebook pixels be removed?
A. Yes, most of the pixel tracking has been setup using the facebook for Woocommerce plugin and it has many issues (its review score is 2 out of 5 stars). We understand this handles the Facebook shopping, if you use this service to sell products through Facebook or Instagram, then please submit a support ticket.

All social pixel codes can be controlled via GTM, this means all of these tracking codes and tagging can be managed by you or your SEO company from within GTM.

Q. What is Google Tag Manager (GTM)
A. Google Tag Manager is a tag management system (TMS) that allows you to quickly and easily update measurement codes and related code fragments collectively known as tags on your website or mobile app.
